Photo Tips

Look like you on camera

Before your shoot

Great photos start before you ever step in front of my camera. These are the tips I give every client so you show up relaxed, confident and looking like the best version of you.

1. Wear what feels like you

Solid colors and soft textures photograph best. Skip tiny busy patterns, big logos and anything that needs constant adjusting.

Bring 2–3 outfits that match your brand colors, plus one that makes you feel unstoppable.

Press everything the night before and bring a lint roller. It saves more photos than you’d think.

2. Prep your hair and makeup

Get your haircut or color 1–2 weeks before your shoot, and style your hair the day of.

Matte makeup photographs better than shine. Bring powder and your lip color for touch-ups between looks.

Want it done for you? Ask me about adding hair and makeup with one of my favorite artists.

Drink water, get some sleep and skip anything new on your skin the week of your shoot.

Glasses? Bring them. If they’re part of how people know you, they belong in your photos.

3. Bring your brand

Your photos should tell people what it’s like to work with you, not just what you look like.

Bring props that tell your story:

Keys, a sold sign or a closing gift

Your laptop, planner or favorite coffee mug

A book you love or something from your hobbies

Your pup (seriously)

Think color first, then pick things that fit your style.

Bring your business card or logo colors so we can match your brand.

4. Know where you’ll post

Tell me where your photos will live so we shoot for it: vertical shots for reels and stories, room for text on a website banner, or a clean headshot for your MLS profile and email signature.

Make a quick list of what you need this season (a listing launch, a new website, a holiday post) and we’ll plan your shots around it.

5. Relax, I’ll direct you

You don’t need to know how to pose. That’s my job.

Move a little, breathe out and think of someone you love. Natural movement beats a frozen smile every time.

6. Use them on purpose

Post consistently, not perfectly. Swap fresh photos into your profile picture, website, email signature and stories every season so people know you’re active and doing well.

Consistency builds trust, and trust is what gets you the call.
